STVFD Volunteers Alice Thomson and Jackson Muller joined the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad for a vehicle extrication scenario, followed by some vehicle fire training. The crew cut two cars, the first in slightly under and hour and the second in a swift 30 mins. Emphasis was placed on understanding the construction of the vehicles, concerns for patients, as well as scene size-up. They performed a doors+roof+dash on both cars.
Following the exercise, C-ARS Special Operations Captain John Winstead introduced some vehicle fire tactics involving the practical uses of a K12 in a car fire.
