Seminole Trail VFD Open House -
Thursday, August 28th at 7:00pm

If you are interested in learning more about STVFD
or joining our family, we encourage you to attend our Fall Open House
that will be held this Thursday, August 28th at 7:00pm at our station.
We are located at 3055 Berkmar Drive across from Fashion Square Mall
(click here to map our address), and all are welcome to attend!

Remember, attending our Open House does not entail any commitment--it is merely an information session to answer any questions you may have and provide you with the opportunity to learn more about what we do here at STVFD. Come out and enjoy a free dinner while you see our station! At the Open House you will:

• Get Free Dinner!*
• Take a tour of our station
• Meet with current members of the department
• See all of our apparatus
• Have your questions answered about STVFD and the Fire/Rescue service

As always, transportation will be provided for all those who need it. Please call (434.973.1717) or email (membershipcommittee@stvfd.org) ahead of time and we will be more than glad to arrange a ride. In the meantime, you can check out our new STVFD Video that shows what it's like to be a part of our family.

For UVa students: We have arranged transportation for all those interested in attending the Open House. Please meet in the Astronomy parking lot behind Observatory Hill Dining Hall on McCormick Road at 6:45 pm on Thursday--keep your eyes out for a Seminole Trail Firefighter in a red recruitment shirt who will provide you with a ride to the station. If you have any questions as to the location of the pick-up, please call us at 434.973.1717.

Albemarle County Fire Rescue (ACFR) Open House - Sunday, August 31st at 11:30am:

ACFR is also holding an Open House for all UVa students interested in Fire/Rescue and will take you on a tour of several fire departments in the county, including STVFD. This Open House will be held on Sunday, August 31st, so if you are unable to attend our Open House on Thursday, this is another opportunity to come out and visit us at the station. ACFR has chartered a UTS bus that will arrive at Bryant Hall (the ticket office on the southern side of Scott Stadium) at 11:30am. The bus will be departing from the stadium at noon.

I'm interested in STVFD, but I can't make it out on either date!

Don't worry! If you are unable to make it to either Open House, we are more than happy to show you around at a time that is more convenient for you. Just contact us ahead of time to schedule your visit--the number for our station is 434.973.1717. Ask to speak to the Duty Captain, and let them know you are interested in learning more about STVFD and that you would like to visit us. You can also schedule a visit by email at membershipcommittee@stvfd.org. Or, if you are in the area, feel free to stop by the station and talk in person.

In addition, all are welcome to Ride-Along with us here at STVFD. When you Ride-Along, you will be assigned to a seat on one of our apparatus and will come with us on calls.
