Toned out as a Reduced structure fire in a townhouse in the Stonehenge subdivision,
Engine 1 arrived on scene reporting light smoke from the eaves. Coming
straight from a training exercise, Tower 88 and Engine 81 arrived shortly after.
Engine 81 secured the water supply for Engine 1, and boosted hydrant pressure
when Engine 1 encountered a pump malfunction. Tower 88's interior crew
aggressively found the source of the fire - an air handling unit in the attic -
and kept the fire in check with a water can. Tower 88's exterior crew quickly
ascended the roof to cut a ventilation hole, providing a much-needed release of
smoke and heat. Engine 81's crew assisted Tower 88's exterior crew, evacuated
and verified no extension into the Delta exposure, deployed a backup line and
manned a RIT with Engine 121's crew. Due to the quick and aggressive response,
the fire was contained to the appliance of origin, with only minor structural damage.
