STVFD and CARS units were dispatched to a 2 vehicle MVC on Seminole Trail at Premier Circle. Engine 81 arrived to find two vehicles involved in a head-on collision and confirmed entrapment in one of the two vehicles.

A severe thunderstorm passed through the Charlottesville-Albemarle
area today with lightning causing a house fire in the Redfield's
subdivision. Units were on the scene for just over 3 hours.

Severe storms keep Seminole crews busy for most of the evening

A line of very severe thunderstorms with high winds came through the
area and resulted in STVFD units answering 14 calls for service in

On May 26, 2008 E Crew pulled a 24 hour shift to cover the 2008 Memorial Day holiday. Most of the day was spent out training in the first due but as the day wore on the crew wanted a little rest and relaxation.
CPSC Recall of Carbon Monoxide and smoke Alarms

On May 15, 2008 CPSC announced the recall of 280,000 Carbon Monoxide and Carbon Monoxide/Smoke Combo Alarms. The recall indicates that the products may not alarm properly posing a hazard. Manufactured in Mexico for Maple Chase the alarms were eligible to bear the UL and cUL Listing Marks.
